As a psychologist specializing in treating anxiety, I found this book very helpful. It is an accademic text and aimed at professionals instead of the general public. With that said, it is very simple to read and gives fantastic advice and information. The one area I found really fascinating and helpful was the authors have compared many different treatment modalities for anxiety to see which is the most powerful. These treatments range from CBT, EMDR, Personal construct scheme, etc. This simple to read book is a must for any psychoanalyst treating clients distress from anxiety. It’s also fascinating from a researchers point of view.

I found the book to be helpful on both a professional and personal level. I am able to utilize some recommended treatment techniques in psychiatric help with my patients. I found particularly helpful the chapter by A. Schwartz and K. Crits-Christoph.
