This book provides an overview of how the different parts of your brain interact to perpetuate anxiety, dread and worry. It then gives specific techniques for usage the physical symptoms, the troubling view and the behaviours that make things worse. What I like the most is that she points out where people can go incorrect using these techniques and how to avoid common pitfalls in trying to apply them. She also recognizes that some issues demand more than a self help deal with. No matter your theoretical background, you can find something useful in this book.

This book is a helpful reference for those seeking immediate results in learning how to cool themselves down.
The techniques presented are well loved and proven amongst anxiety sufferers and therapists alike. I myself suffered from panic attacks and social anxiety for over five years, and have been using many of these helpful techniques for years. I also appreciate that the author has given a thorough explanation of why each repose technique works. When it comes to anxiety, education is empowerment. The better understanding you have of how anxiety works, the simpler it is to control and overcome.
Why should you listen to the author? Because she (like millions of us out there) used to endure from panic attacks and other anxiety problems, which certainly qualifies her as an expert on the subject. I certainly recommend this book for not only those distress from anxiety, but for anyone who want to learn how to relax.
Cheers,
