After reading all positive reviews, I went ahead and bought this DVD. I was so excited to get it in the mail today, so I place it in the DVD player straight away and even listened to the introduction (which I will say was very insightful). Unfortunately I was immediately disappointed by the poor quality of this video. Its setting is in a yoga studio and there are two people in the room. The teacher and a woman sort of doing the demonstrations. The camera angels are awkward and there is nothing soothing about looking at the screen. I thought I could overlook this flaw since the instructor really does have a nice voice and he does a fantastic job explaining things, but a few seconds later I realized how annoying the music was. Sure it is calming and soothing if you take pleasure in listening to a Bjork like voice chanting the same thing over and over again. I found it so distracting that I couldn’t focus on what he was saying. On top of this, the sound overall is of poor quality. The instructors voice is sometimes echoed and is hard to hear– predictable problems resulting from low quality production.

I am so disappointed and have no thought why everyone is raving about this DVD. My only guess is there are many reviews given by people who know the instructor or are in his class. I can know why others take pleasure in it for the instruction alone, and perhaps were not as distracted by all of its flaws. (I should mention that the music changes 3/4 the way owing to and is much better) I wish they would have been able to produce this with higher quality and would have taken the time to select more soothing music. I guess I will have search for a different video, this time I will be more leery of reviews!

Nothing new here. All your standard yoga poses. This was filmed in a an empty studio space that caused annoying echoing – mainly when the instructor was tender in the poses. I was bothered by the background music. It really grated on the nerves after a while. The routine was quite long (over 1 1/2 hours). I prefer yoga dvds that offer a choice of routines. I don’t always have 2 hours to dedicate to my practice and it would be nice to have a shorter option. I don’t know how the ratings could be so high. I should’ve paid more attention to the other low ratings. Amazed there are only a link.

The instructor is fantastic and the content is awesome but if you watch it on a huge screen (like I did) then the persona is a small grainy and the camerawork is a small shaky.

This is my first yoga DVD, and I throughly loved it. The music is relaxing, and I found it simple to listen to, watch and follow along.

this is a fantastic dvd for a begginer, which is what i am. it’s challenging but

the poses are thoroughly clarified and it’s very helpful and simple to follow along.

i appreciate the concepts of focusing on the breath, and letting go of stress.

i will admit i just wanted to tighten and tone the derriere a bit,

but i have found that Ira’s practice is quite uplifting. i highly recommend this

dvd to anyone who wants to erect core strength, mental and physical,

in the privacy of their own home.
